The Tone:
This is an hourly role at Carowinds, an amusement park committed to creating happiness and lasting memories for its guests. As a Bar Associate, you will be a central figure in enhancing the guest experience by cultivating a welcoming and exciting bar atmosphere. This role is crucial in ensuring every guest’s visit is memorable and enjoyable.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Curate Guest Experience: Craft a variety of drinks, pour beer and wine, and provide exceptional service to both corporate and leisure guests at the bar, creating a welcoming and exciting atmosphere.
• Alcohol Service and Compliance: Skillfully tap beer kegs, serve draft beer alongside bottled alcoholic beverages, and vigilantly monitor and manage alcohol sales and consumption to ensure strict adherence to NC Liquor Laws, including diligently checking proper identification for guests aged 21 and older.
• Inventory and Maintenance: Engage in heavy lifting, including carrying beer kegs and cases, to ensure a fully stocked bar, and maintain the bar, preparation areas, and other assigned sections in a clean, orderly, and consistently well-stocked condition.
• Financial Transactions: Accurately balance shift reports and cash drawers, and efficiently process credit card payments while performing essential pre and post-shift cleaning duties to ensure a pristine environment.
• Guest Relations: Take orders for and serve delicious bar bites prepared by the cook, answer general guest questions, and provide valuable information about the property, the park, and the local area to enhance their visit.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates must be at least 21 years old and demonstrate initiative, upholding the company’s strong reputation and unwavering dedication to safety, service, courtesy, cleanliness, and integrity in all interactions.
• Experience: Possess the ability to quickly learn and efficiently operate a Point-of-Sale (POS) system for accurate order processing and financial management. This role also requires capability to work collaboratively in a team setting while also being effective when working independently.
• Availability: Available to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet fluctuating business needs of the park and its guests.
