What You’ll Actually Do
• Policy Application: Assist with interpreting and applying budget policies, regulations, and appropriations guidance.
• Financial Processing: Review and process financial transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain financial records and ensure correct assignment of funding codes for programs and appropriations.
• Execution Tracking: Monitor funding levels and track execution progress to support program and financial oversight.
• Cycle Support: Support all phases of the budget cycle, including planning, formulation, justification, and execution.
The Must-Haves
• Background: BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field. US Citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• Experience: 0–3 years of experience supporting budget or financial analysis. Experience with financial systems or databases.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; basic knowledge of accounting principles.
• Bonus: Familiarity with the federal budget cycle, knowledge of interagency agreements or Treasury processes, strong analytical skills and attention to detail, effective briefing and presentation capabilities, ability to interpret federal budget guidance and reference materials, and relevant professional certifications such as the CGFM.
