Summer Internship Program – Broadcast Communications/Journalism
Overview Of The Company
FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full-power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor, and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.
Job Description
FOX 2/WJBK is offering a comprehensive Summer Internship Program designed for college juniors and seniors majoring in Broadcast Communications, Journalism, or related fields who are interested in gaining valuable experience in the dynamic broadcasting industry.
Interns will have the invaluable opportunity to learn directly from experienced professionals and gain hands-on exposure in the following key departments:
- Newsroom
- Sports
Throughout the internship period, students will observe daily newsroom operations, actively assist with various production and editorial tasks, and develop a deeper, practical understanding of how a broadcast newsroom operates in a fast-paced environment.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this enriching internship program, applicants must meet the following essential criteria:
- Must be a college junior or senior majoring in Broadcast Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Must be available to intern a minimum of 3 days per week, 7 hours per day.
- Must be able to participate fully during the May – August summer semester.
Compensation
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate for this role, with the final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location, is $14.00 per hour.
