Engineering Student – Water/Wastewater Team | Kimley-Horn

The Tone:

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: In-person, West Palm Beach, FL
• Team: Water/Wastewater Team
• Mission: This person contributes to the civil engineering design, planning, and analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure projects to realize clients’ visions.
• Tech Stack: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, GIS

What You’ll Actually Do
• Software Operation: Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and quality control deliverables for clients.
• Project Contribution: Contribute to the pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects ranging in size and scope.
• Problem Solving: Solve complex engineering problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce clients’ visions.
• Regulatory Acumen: Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
• Skill Development: Gain proficiency in one or more software programs specific to their disciplines during the internship.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an ABET accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
• Experience: Early career student eager to gain hands-on experience in civil engineering design.
• Skills: Technical software utilization, civil engineering design principles, problem-solving, analytical skills, collaboration.
