Summer Intern – Credit Risk Administration | Webster Bank

This is an internship at Webster Bank, located in Southington, CT; Jericho, NY; Paramus, NJ – Hybrid. • Team: Credit Risk Administration (supporting this team)
• Mission: Support the Credit Risk Administration team by learning about Webster Bank’s risk management function, commercial credit policies, and loan documentation, while assisting with loan reviews and contributing to operational initiatives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Risk Management Insight: Gain insight into Webster Bank’s Risk Management function, with a specific focus on the Credit Risk Review team.
• Commercial Credit Procedures: Understand commercial credit policies and procedures for evaluating and managing loan requests and documentation.
• Loan Compliance Support: Assist the Credit Risk Review team in verifying that loans align with bank policies and documentation.
• Operational Contribution: Participate in team projects and operational initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Capstone Presentation: Develop and present a department-assigned project to managers and stakeholders at the end of the program.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Current undergraduate rising Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in a related field with an interest in the banking/financial services industry.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience creating and delivering presentations.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, highly organized with strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, self-motivated with a strong work ethic, ability to learn quickly and solve problems, collaborative and inclusive team player, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
