Behavior Technician (Naturalistic, Play-Based ABA) | Cortica

The Tone:
This is a field-based Behavior Technician role at Cortica, supporting families within a specified service area, requiring consistent travel within a 30-40 minute radius. Cortica is dedicated to designing and delivering life-changing care for children with neurodevelopmental differences, employing a comprehensive, transdisciplinary approach. • Team: Supported by Lead BTs, ABA Assistant Supervisors, and ABA Supervisors
• Mission: Deliver one-on-one and group behavior-analytic services to children with neurodevelopmental differences, implementing positive behavior strategies.
• Tech Stack: EMR systems, Microsoft Office tools

What You’ll Actually Do
• Service Delivery: Provide individualized and group behavior-analytic services to children with autism and other neurodevelopmental differences, focusing on naturalistic and play-based ABA methods.
• Strategy Implementation: Implement positive behavior strategies and care plans developed collaboratively with your BCBA, ensuring evidence-based practices lead to meaningful progress for families.
• Data Management: Accurately document session data using EMR systems to diligently track progress, measure outcomes, and support the achievement of established treatment goals.
• Collaborative Partnership: Collaborate closely with families and a multidisciplinary team, including supervisors and experts from various fields, to build supportive environments that extend beyond therapy sessions.
• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to Cortica’s crisis protocols, which include de-escalation techniques and mandated reporting, to ensure the safety and well-being of all children and staff.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career professional possessing a High School diploma or equivalent, with a clear willingness to achieve BCAT certification within the first 90 days of employment, for which all necessary training will be provided.
• Experience: Demonstrated prior experience working with children, showing proficiency in navigating EMR systems and utilizing Microsoft Office tools effectively for documentation and communication.
• Skills: Capability in implementing positive behavior strategies, meticulous documentation of session data, proficient crisis de-escalation techniques, and consistent ability to travel reliably between client sites within a 30-40 minute radius.
• Bonus: Strong preference for candidates who possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or have direct experience working with children on the autism spectrum.
