About the Job: Innovation & AI Intern

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Innovation & AI Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the legal field and eager to gain hands-on experience in legal innovation and artificial intelligence. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the firm’s Innovation team, primarily by researching, evaluating, and piloting emerging legal technologies, with a strong emphasis on AI-enabled tools. The ultimate goal is to enhance legal service delivery, operational efficiency, and client experience. This internship offers valuable exposure to real-world applications of AI within a leading global law firm environment.
Location: Houston, TX; Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; or San Antonio, TX
Duration: June 2026 – July 2026
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for the Innovation & AI Intern will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Conduct Research: Perform in-depth research on emerging legal technology and AI tools, including generative AI, to identify innovative solutions.
- Evaluation & Pilot Support: Assist with the evaluation and pilot phases of new innovation initiatives. This includes testing workflows, documenting findings, and providing structured feedback.
- Material Development: Support the creation of internal documentation and resources, such as playbooks, process documentation, training guides, and executive summaries for various projects.
- Market Analysis: Analyze market trends, vendor offerings, and competitor activities within the legal innovation and AI landscape to inform strategic decisions.
- Feedback Synthesis: Help gather feedback from attorneys and business professionals regarding technology adoption and usage, synthesizing these insights into actionable recommendations for improvement and future development.
- Collaborative Projects: Collaborate effectively with other Innovation team members on special projects and client-facing initiatives, contributing to the successful execution of firm-wide objectives.

Qualifications:
Candidates for the Innovation & AI Intern position should possess the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant field such as law, business, computer science, data science, information systems, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated Interest: A strong and verifiable interest in legal innovation, artificial intelligence, and technology-enabled service delivery within the legal sector.
- Skills: Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
- Adaptability to Technology: Comfortable with learning and adapting to new tools and technologies. Prior exposure to AI or legal technology platforms is considered a significant advantage.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional Attributes: Possess a professional, collaborative, and curious mindset, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach.
- Judgment & Accountability: Exhibit good judgment and a strong sense of accountability for delivering excellent service and results.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Prior exposure to coding languages and additional specialized tools is a plus.
