Job Summary: American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher
We are seeking a passionate and innovative American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. As an ASL Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing instructional programs in a dynamic learning environment. Your role will be to guide and encourage students to achieve their academic potential through engaging lessons that integrate technology, science, and engineering while fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This position offers the opportunity to work with evolving teaching methods and educational tools in an ever-changing and strategic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Planning: Plan and implement problem-based lessons aligned with state standards for American Sign Language.
- Engagement and Innovation: Create engaging lessons that integrate technology, science, and engineering while fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Student Progress: Ensure the success of all students by regularly assessing progress toward mastery of standards and keeping students and parents informed.
- Support for All Learners: Provide appropriate accommodations and modifications to support the growth and success of all students.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to deepen pedagogical content knowledge, enhance teaching practices, and create problem-based learning opportunities.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Valid state teaching license with highly qualified content knowledge.
- Certified to teach American Sign Language.
Preferred:
- Experience with Learning Management Systems and Google Suite.
- Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience.
Essential Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to move quickly throughout the building and campus.
- Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, and sitting.
Schedule
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- School Year: 2026–2027

Salary Range
The pay range for this role is $62,150 – $131,345 USD per year.
