American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher | STEM School Highlands Ranch

The Tone:
This is a full-time role for an American Sign Language Teacher at STEM School Highlands Ranch, located in Highlands Ranch, CO. As a K-12 public charter school within the Douglas County School District, the institution is dedicated to fostering an environment that values respect, success, and continuous improvement, aiming to unleash the potential of all students and prepare them for an exponentially changing world. The ASL Teacher will play a pivotal role in this mission, responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing instructional programs in a learning environment focused on growth. This position involves guiding and encouraging students to achieve their academic potential through engaging lessons that integrate technology, science, and engineering, while also fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The teacher will contribute to the school’s core values by building a strong community, leading with care, and continuously improving teaching methods.

• Pay: $62150–$131345 yearly
• Mission: Own planning and implementing American Sign Language instructional programs to foster student academic potential, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills within a STEM-focused learning environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Instructional Planning: Plan and implement problem-based lessons aligned with state standards for American Sign Language.
• Engagement and Education: Create engaging lessons that integrate technology, science, and engineering while fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Student Progress: Ensure the success of all students by regularly assessing progress toward mastery of standards and keeping students and parents informed.
• Learner Support: Provide appropriate accommodations and modifications to support the growth and success of all students.
• Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to deepen pedagogical content knowledge, enhance teaching practices, and create problem-based learning opportunities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience (preferred).
• Skills: Valid state teaching license with highly qualified content knowledge; certified to teach American Sign Language; experience with Learning Management Systems; experience with Google Suite.
