• Mission: To learn fundamental grooming techniques and provide safe, high-quality bathing and grooming services for pets, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Grooming Training: Engage in a comprehensive ten-week training program, gaining hands-on experience under close supervision to master fundamental grooming services including bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning.
• Pet Care & Safety: Ensure the well-being and safety of every animal in the salon at all times, prioritizing their comfort while adhering strictly to company policies and procedures during all grooming services.
• Client Engagement: Interact professionally and effectively with pet parents, providing optimal customer service, addressing grooming-related inquiries, and delivering timely resolutions to foster positive relationships.
• Salon Hygiene: Maintain a pristine and safe grooming environment by performing daily and weekly cleaning duties, disinfecting and sanitizing tools and equipment, and conducting additional maintenance tasks like cleaning air filters and drains.
• Operational Support: Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling grooming appointments, accurately handling paperwork, maintaining detailed grooming records, and diligently adhering to Petco’s grooming policies and standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An early career individual with a genuine passion for animals, seeking to pursue a foundational career in pet grooming within a structured training environment.
• Experience: 0-1 year of prior animal-related experience, such as shelter volunteering or pet sitting, is preferred. Previous grooming salon assistance is a distinct advantage.
• Skills: Demonstrated capability in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments with empathy and care, coupled with effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with pet parents and team members.
• Bonus: Preferred high-school diploma or GED, along with the flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by the Pet Care Center’s grooming schedule.
