Estimator
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate quantity takeoffs, detailed cost estimates, and thorough scope reviews for assigned projects. This role includes analyzing project specifications, drawings, and bid documents, as well as maintaining up-to-date cost databases for materials, subcontractors, and labor productivity. The Estimator collaborates closely with project management and operations teams to support successful project execution, ensuring estimates are precise and align with project goals and operational capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Detailed Quantity Takeoffs & Scope Reviews: Perform comprehensive quantity takeoffs and meticulous scope reviews for assigned projects utilizing advanced digital estimating tools to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Draft Project Estimates: Prepare initial project estimates, clearly outlining scope inclusions and exclusions, for collaborative review with operations and project management teams to facilitate alignment and strategic planning.
- Change Order Estimates: Support project managers by developing timely and accurate change order estimates as needed, helping to manage project adjustments efficiently.
- Labor Cost Data Management: Maintain, monitor, and regularly update labor crew cost data and field productivity benchmarks to ensure realistic and competitive estimates.
- Equipment Rate Tracking: Accurately track and update rental equipment rates and associated costs, optimizing resource allocation within project budgets.
- Subcontractor Evaluation: Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor pricing and estimates as required, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality of work.
- Project Scope Development: Develop clear, comprehensive, and well-defined project scopes of work that accurately reflect project requirements and deliverables.
- Internal Estimate Review: Actively participate in internal estimate review meetings to ensure the highest level of accuracy, alignment with project strategies, and adherence to company standards.
- Pre-bid Activities: Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site walks as needed, gathering critical information to support the development of robust and competitive estimates.
- Project Turnover Packages: Provide complete and detailed project turnover packages to project managers upon the award of contracts, ensuring a smooth transition from estimating to project execution.
Requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: Prior internship or co-op experience within the construction industry, demonstrating practical exposure to project environments.
- Certifications: OSHA 30 certification.
- Software Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to work proficiently with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and relevant construction management software.

Salary Description
The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from $70,000.00 to $80,000.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
