We seek a level 1 (entry level) Program Planner to be part of our mission supporting the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) Program. Based out of Huntsville, AL, you will support execution efforts across multiple sites and other SMD programs. This role offers the opportunity to interface with Engineering, Business Operations, and Program Management, and to brief senior management. You will be responsible for developing a compliant Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) that accurately reflects the detailed contractual scope and resources required to execute the program.

Summary of Key Duties:

In this role, you will:

  • Support the development and maintenance of the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), ensuring integration between the IMS and the Integrated Master Plan (IMP).
  • Maintain schedule integration between the IMS and the Program Summary Master Schedule and supplemental schedules.
  • Perform critical path and schedule risk analyses.
  • Provide planning support to Production Operations and the Master Program Scheduler as part of monthly management rhythms, ensuring schedule accuracy.
  • Perform schedule integrity checks.
  • Generate and deliver IMS reports and metrics.
  • Present schedule-related information to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure compliance with LM Corporate Program Performance Management and Program Planning policies and practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Schedule Performance Management techniques.
  • Experience delivering briefings to team members and project teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret clearance prior to start and ultimately a final Secret security clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or a similar degree.
  • 3 years or more of experience in planning or program management-related discipline.
  • Exposure to Network scheduling tools (MS Project, Open Plan, Primavera, etc.).
  • Critical Path Scheduling methodology.
  • Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development and maintenance.
  • Integrated Master Plan (IMP) knowledge.
  • Production / Sustainment / Depot Operations.
  • Earned Value Management.
  • Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Development.
  • Proposal knowledge.
  • Advanced Excel skill set, including macros, lookup tables, and VBA.
  • Exposure to Schedule Risk Assessment process/tools.
  • Ability to communicate utilizing different techniques and build strong relationships.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
