Junior Engineer – Oil & Gas Facilities
This is an exciting contract-to-hire opportunity for a Junior Engineer to provide critical support to senior engineering staff on various engineering projects within the oil and natural gas industry. Located in the Fort Wayne / Auburn / Angola, IN area, this role offers valuable hands-on experience, ongoing training, and the potential for a long-term career path.

- Location: Fort Wayne / Auburn / Angola, IN
- Schedule: Hybrid (In-office Tues, Wed, and a third day of your choice; potential transition to full-time onsite)
- Duration: 02/10/2025 – 02/08/2026 (Contract to Hire)
- Rate: $35 – $40/hour
- Contract Type: W-2 only (No visa sponsorships or subcontracting)
Scope of Services:
The Junior Engineer will play a vital role in assisting senior engineers with the development, maintenance, and evaluation of engineering designs, specifications, and processes for oil and natural gas facilities. This position emphasizes adherence to safety, regulatory, and cost limitations while providing significant opportunities for professional growth and contributing to the successful execution of capital projects.
Role, Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Provide day-to-day engineering support for various projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of structural, systems, controls, and other engineering specifications, procedures, and directives.
- Participate in pre-production meetings concerning components such as pipe, fittings, flanges, valves, and pressure vessels.
- Contribute to materials testing programs and research and development initiatives.
- Collaborate with other junior engineers on routine and recurring projects.
- Engage in continuous professional development of engineering knowledge and skills through on-the-job training.
- Offer technical guidance to technicians and support senior professionals as needed.
- Design materials, structures, and systems, ensuring considerations for practicality, regulations, safety, and cost.
- Conduct feasibility studies, identify resource requirements (personnel and materials), and establish operational and development standards.
- Provide general engineering support for capital projects specific to oil and natural gas facilities.
- Support Client Engineering staff by offering engineering expertise as directed.
Education & Qualifications:
- Degree: PHMSA Accredited Mechanical or Civil Engineering Degree (ABET accredited) is required.
- Experience: 0 to 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Location: Must reside in or be willing to commute to the Fort Wayne / Auburn / Angola Area, IN.
- Work Schedule: Ability to work a hybrid schedule with specific in-office days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and a third day of choice). Be prepared for a potential transition to full-time onsite work in the near future.

- Basic understanding of engineering principles and practices pertinent to the oil and gas industry.
