Career Development Program Participant | Year Up

The Tone:
This is an apprenticeship opportunity with Year Up, located in Charlotte, NC, through the comprehensive Year Up United program. Year Up is dedicated to equipping young adults with essential skills and opportunities to successfully launch a professional career within a year or less. This role focuses on delivering practical, in-classroom skill development combined with invaluable real-world experience, preparing participants for a prosperous future in various professional fields.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Training: Engage in intensive technical and professional training, focusing on practical, in-classroom skill development to prepare for immediate entry into the workforce.
• Skill Development: Acquire a diverse set of skills crucial for career success, including professional business and communication skills, interviewing and networking techniques, and expertise in resume building.
• Internship: Complete valuable internships with leading organizations such as Bank of America, Wells Fargo, or Lowe’s Companies, Inc., gaining essential real-world experience in the Charlotte area.
• Support: Utilize comprehensive job placement services provided by the industry-leading talent placement firm, YUPRO Placement, alongside personalized coaching and mentorship.
• Guidance: Receive ongoing support and guidance to effectively launch and navigate your professional career path, ensuring a successful start.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. Candidates must be a high school graduate or possess a GED, and importantly, must not have obtained a Bachelor’s degree to be eligible for this program.
• Experience: Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and be fully available Monday-Friday for the entire duration of the program, demonstrating a full commitment to the training.
• Skills: Possess a high motivation to learn and apply both technical and professional skills, including the development of professional business communication, interviewing, networking techniques, and expertise in resume building.
