The Tone:
This is an internship at NEORSD, located in Cleveland, OH, with hybrid work eligibility. The Northern Ohio Regional Sewer District manages regional wastewater and stormwater services crucial for public health and environmental protection. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the financial, accounting, and compliance operations that underpin these essential services. The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting projects and initiatives across various financial domains.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Data: Input and analyze data within finance, accounting, and compliance systems to support ongoing operations.
• Support Projects: Assist with various cross-functional projects and initiatives related to finance and compliance activities.
• Validate Accounts: Conduct research and verification of stormwater accounts to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare Reports: Aid in the preparation and analysis of departmental reports, facilitating informed decision-making.
• Contribute to Operations: Participate in initiatives across revenue support, billing, accounting, and inventory control.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, Audit, or a closely related field, or a recent graduate within 24 months of application.
• Experience: Ability to commit to a 12-month fixed-term assignment working 20-40 hours per week during normal business hours.
• Skills: Data analysis and input, financial account research and validation, report preparation, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Bonus: A goal-oriented team player with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
