The TL;DR

• Team: Care Team, reporting under a preceptor, leader, and/or charge nurse.
• Mission: Administer bedside patient care for acute patients, assess individual needs, develop care plans, and advocate for patients and their families.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Administer: Provide direct bedside patient care in acute settings under the supervision of a preceptor, leader, or charge nurse.
• Assess: Evaluate patients’ needs and progress, developing and revising individualized plans of care based on their responses.
• Collaborate: Communicate and work with medical staff and the interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage patient care within the unit.
• Document: Accurately record patient care activities, including assessments, education, medication administration, treatments, and safety measures, meeting all required standards.
• Educate: Serve as a preceptor or unit educator for new team members and students, actively participating in the Nurse Residency Program as appropriate.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, authorized by the Florida Board of Nursing (BON) to practice as a graduate nurse, and authorized to take the NCLEX.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required, as this is a Nurse Resident position for new graduates; must obtain Registered Nurse licensure in Florida or a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) multistate RN license within three months of placement.
• Skills: Bedside patient care, patient assessment and individualized care planning, effective communication and collaboration, accurate documentation, delegation of tasks, and current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• Bonus: ACLS, NRP, PALS, or TNCC certifications may be required for specific areas or departments.
