What You’ll Actually Do
• Empower young people, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to reach their full potential.
• Engage in high-quality academic training combined with immersive classroom learning within a main placement school and a contrasting school.
• Receive weekly one-to-one guidance from a dedicated mentor, focusing on wellbeing, classroom practice, and lesson planning.
• Attain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with 60 credits towards a master’s degree.
• Specialise in teaching primary pupils (ages 5-11) or secondary pupils (ages 11-16) in one of twelve specific subjects.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An undergraduate bachelor’s degree with honours, or equivalent. This is an early career programme, requiring no prior teaching experience.
• Experience: No prior teaching experience is required to apply for the programme.
• Skills:
• Possess a GCSE grade 4/C or above in English and maths, or equivalent.
• For primary school training, possess a GCSE grade 4/C or above in science, or equivalent.
• Ability to commit to a rigorous 11-month full-time or 20-month part-time postgraduate programme.
• Bonus: Some school partners may require a degree and/or A-level qualification related to the subject you wish to teach. International candidates must have a visa with permission to work full-time in the UK for the duration of the programme.
