What You’ll Actually Do
• Security Controls: Assist in implementing and maintaining security controls, ensuring compliance with FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST SP 800-53 Moderate baselines.
• Risk Management: Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, including diligent documentation updates and meticulous collection of control implementation evidence.
• Vulnerability Management: Conduct routine vulnerability scans and perform configuration compliance checks, operating under the guidance of senior personnel.
• Monitoring & Escalation: Monitor system and security logs to diligently identify anomalies and effectively escalate findings to senior analysts for prompt action.
• Documentation: Help maintain audit-ready documentation, encompassing compliance reports and comprehensive assessment evidence.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field, forming a core foundation in information security.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant professional experience in information security, cyber risk management, network defense, or IT system administration with a security focus. An Associate’s degree plus 2 additional years of hands-on experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Skills: CompTIA Security+ CE (or equivalent) certification; demonstrated ability to work with security controls, support RMF activities, perform vulnerability scanning, and monitor security logs.
• Bonus: Possession of Network+, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or CAP (Certified Authorization Professional) certifications.
