Environmental Engineering Intern | GHD

The Tone:
This is an Environmental Engineering Intern position at GHD, located in Indianapolis, IN, operating on a hybrid model. In this role, you will contribute to researching, designing, planning, and performing engineering duties focused on preventing, controlling, and remediating environmental hazards. Your work will directly impact critical areas such as waste treatment, site remediation, and the implementation of advanced pollution control technology.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Analysis: Produce accurate reports by collecting data from standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
• Engineering Design: Create engineering drawings under the guidance of senior colleagues to communicate and evaluate engineering solutions.
• Solution Development: Contribute to the development and feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions to validate designs with feedback and data.
• Risk Mitigation: Follow organizational HSE policies and procedures to identify and mitigate environmental and workplace risks, instructing teams in safe working methods.
• Waste Management Support: Aid in waste reduction programs, waste segregation, storage, transportation, and disposal efforts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an Environmental Engineering or equivalent Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is required.
• Skills: Data collection and analysis, technical research, basic problem-solving, understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies.
