Front Desk Clerk – Whistling Straits (Part-Time, Seasonal)

Work Mode: Onsite
Location: Kohler, WI

Opportunity Summary

As a Front Desk Clerk at Whistling Straits, you will be the welcoming face and voice for guests, responsible for managing incoming calls, scheduling tee times, facilitating guest check-ins, and overseeing all other essential front desk operations. This role is crucial for ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all visitors to our renowned golf course.

Specific Responsibilities

  • System Management: Proficiently operate and thoroughly understand all functions of the POS (Point of Sale) and TTS (Tee Time Scheduling) systems. This includes managing confirmation information, ensuring reservation accuracy, handling guest check-in, and reconciling the cash drawer.
  • Customer Service: Greet and provide excellent service to customers both in person and over the phone. Answer general inquiries about our golf courses and provide comprehensive information regarding all hospitality businesses within Kohler.
  • Financial Transactions: Handle all cash transactions, balance and deposit cash, and accurately record as necessary.
  • Caddie Reconciliation: Perform daily reconciliation of caddies in collaboration with CME (Caddie Master Enterprises).
  • Call Management: Answer incoming phone calls, route calls to appropriate departments, take messages, and assist customers with their needs.
  • Lost & Found: Assist in overseeing the management of lost and found items.
  • Area Maintenance: Ensure the golf shop, front desk, and all public areas are kept neat, orderly, and well-stocked with general information displays.
  • Opening & Closing Procedures: Execute established procedures for opening and closing the golf shop and front desk area.
  • Retail Support: Assist the Supervisor-Merchandising with inventory management, golf shop sales, and maintaining order within the shop as needed.
  • Complaint Resolution: Handle customer complaints and suggestions professionally and according to established policy.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the successful and smooth operation of the golf shop.
  • Scheduling & Training: Prepare and distribute the monthly uniform schedule. Assist the 1st Assistant-Inside with scheduling, training of Front Desk Clerk I, PGM Interns, and other seasonal staff.
  • Sales Initiatives: Create and manage shop sales incentive programs.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time, seasonal opportunity requiring availability on both weekdays and weekends. Shifts will vary between 5:30 am and 9:00 pm.

  • Presentation: Maintain a clean, professional appearance.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the game of golf is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous retail, customer service, or hospitality experience is required.
