Proposal Specialist | Syneos Health®

The Tone:
This is an early career role at Syneos Health®, located remotely in the USA. Syneos Health is a leading fully integrated biopharmaceutical solutions organization dedicated to accelerating customer success and translating unique clinical, medical affairs, and commercial insights into outcomes. This role is vital to furthering the company’s vision of Shortening the Distance from Lab to Life® by supporting the Global Proposal Management team. The Proposal Specialist will play a key role in developing compelling proposals for clinical research and pharmaceutical services, which are critical for driving the business forward and addressing modern market realities.

The TL;DR

• Team: Global Proposal & RFI team, reporting to a Director or Manager.
• Mission: Support the Global Proposal Management team by organizing information, maintaining internal systems, and ensuring smooth operations to facilitate the development of client proposals.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel), CRM system (Salesforce), SharePoint.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Assist team members with questions regarding proposal processes and tools.
• Routing: Review new Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and route them to the appropriate proposal team, with guidance from managers.
• Setup: Create digital project folders (SharePoint sites) and upload essential documents for project initiation.
• Data Entry: Enter and update information in the CRM system (Salesforce) and internal workload reports.
• Maintenance: Contribute to database maintenance and data cleanup projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A bachelor’s degree is a requirement for this early career role, ideally in business, life sciences, or a related field. This position is well-suited for a recent graduate or someone with limited relevant experience.
• Experience: Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, especially Word and Excel, is necessary. While no expert-level experience is required, a bit of relevant professional journey is helpful. Training, mentorship, and support will be provided to build skills.
• Skills: Demonstrated high level of attention to detail and accuracy; strong written and verbal communication skills; a genuine curiosity about how the business works and a willingness to ask questions; a positive, team-oriented approach with the ability to work cooperatively; and comfort managing several small tasks or projects at once while staying organized. A focus on openness, honesty, and follow-through in day-to-day interactions is also valued.
• Bonus: Some prior exposure to the clinical research or pharmaceutical industry is helpful but not required. An interest in proposal development and a desire to understand how services are scoped and communicated is also a plus.
