Your Role
As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in building confidence for organizations of all sizes by ensuring their financial health. We offer the flexibility to develop innovative business solutions that extend far beyond mere spreadsheet management. Your responsibilities will encompass, but not be limited to:
- Analyzing and advising on tax implications related to mergers and acquisitions.
- Conducting in-depth research on complex tax issues and articulating findings in technical memorandums.
- Providing assistance with international tax structuring and addressing operational challenges.
- Preparing comprehensive tax returns and serving as a vital member of client engagement teams.
- Supporting National Tax Office functions, including drafting internal and external tax alerts on current tax developments and emerging planning strategies.
- Contributing to internal tax education initiatives.
- Assisting in managing the tax aspects of various transactions.
- Engaging in meaningful interactions with staff at all levels and collaborating with our diverse and impressive client portfolio.
- Deepening your expertise in tax and tax consulting through exposure to both service lines.
The Qualifications
We are looking for individuals who possess the following:
- A strong demonstrated interest in tax law, evidenced by completed or planned tax courses before graduation.
- A detail-oriented leadership approach, coupled with excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
- A Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting; or a Master’s degree in accounting or tax.
- Currently pursuing an LL.M., J.D., or CPA license.
- A history of academic success, maintaining a minimum major GPA of 3.0.
This is an exempt position that may involve some local, national, and occasional international travel.

We are pleased to offer eligible staff a robust benefits package. Eligibility and contribution requirements for some benefits vary based on weekly work hours. Highlights include health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Additionally, eligible staff can utilize our Flexible Time Off and various pre-determined holidays, as well as a 401(k) plan, flexible benefits plans, and reimbursement for business-related travel expenses, lodging, and meals. A pension plan is available for eligible administrative and paraprofessional staff. A discretionary bonus plan is also available for eligible staff. Plante Moran also offers some contingent staff positions the option to elect health insurance in addition to limited paid sick time.
The compensation range provided reflects the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position across our offices in the following regions: CO, IL, OH, and MA. Please refer to the position description for the applicable geographic location. Generally, experienced hires are not onboarded at or near the maximum salary range, as compensation decisions consider a wide array of factors, including but not limited to responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. For early career roles, including campus hires, we offer standardized, market-based starting salaries among individuals within the same hiring group to ensure fairness and align with current industry benchmarks for entry-level talent.

The compensation range for this role in CO, IL, OH, and MA is: $78,000.00 – $87,000.00
