Summer Intern | Schulte Companies
The Tone:
This is an in-person internship at Schulte Companies, a leading third-party management company overseeing more than 200 hotels and restaurants across 38 states and 3 countries. The company’s success is rooted in a service culture that prioritizes the needs of internal and external stakeholders and aims to make a positive impact. As a Summer Intern, you will directly contribute to daily operations and the delivery of exceptional guest experiences, learning the fundamentals within a rapidly growing hospitality organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Support: Assist in daily hotel operations within assigned department(s), including guest service, administrative support, and back-of-house tasks.
• Guest Engagement: Observe and actively participate in efforts to deliver exceptional guest experiences and maintain high service standards, providing support during peak service periods.
• Project Management: Complete specific projects and tasks as assigned by departmental leaders, which may include gathering data and providing feedback on hotel performance.
• Industry Learning: Acquire knowledge of internal systems, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and specific brand service standards relevant to the hospitality industry.
• Professional Development: Attend and actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and cross-departmental shadowing opportunities to broaden understanding of hotel functions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university program focused on Hospitality Management, Business, Tourism, or a related field. Must also be eligible to receive academic credit if the internship is pursued for credit.
• Experience: Previous customer service or hospitality experience is considered a plus, though it is not a mandatory requirement for this role.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with guests and team members; ability to multitask and adapt efficiently within varied tasks and a dynamic operational setting; basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and email correspondence.
• Bonus: A genuine interest in hotel operations and a demonstrable passion for the hospitality industry; prior experience with specific hotel management systems; a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and a willingness to continuously learn and grow; ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as operational needs dictate.
