Bookkeeper- Secondary Schools | DCSD
The Tone:
This is a regular, full-time role at Sagewood Middle School within the Douglas County School District (DCSD). DCSD is committed to fostering an engaging learning environment across its secondary schools. This Bookkeeper position plays a vital support role in managing the array of fiscal services for the student body and school site activities. The successful candidate will ensure that all financial practices adhere to proper and legal guidelines, facilitating smooth operations and promoting strong community relations among school clientele.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Vendor Coordination: Obtain vendor quotations to secure cost information for purchasing and item acquisition.
• Fund Management: Collect and process funds from all academic and athletic students, ensuring accurate and timely transaction completion.
• Financial Compilation: Compile comprehensive financial information for the school site, including managing accounts payable/receivables and depositing all collected moneys.
• Transaction Processing: Process all financial information, such as purchase orders, accounts payable, and payments for athletic event officials, to update records and authorize actions.
• Data Reconciliation: Reconcile financial data and account balances to ensure accuracy and strict adherence to established accounting practices.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School or Equivalent (Required).
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in providing fiscal support for department and school site activities, including managing financial services for student bodies. Proven ability to research discrepancies, collect and compile funds, process various financial information such as purchase orders and accounts payable, and ensure the timely and accurate completion of transactions within established guidelines.
