Position Summary

The Production Planning Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth flow of manufacturing operations. This involves assisting with the entire lifecycle of Manufacturing Service Orders (MSOs), ensuring accurate data within production systems, and maintaining organized, audit-ready production documentation. This hands-on role offers valuable exposure to manufacturing planning processes and the opportunity to learn from experienced team members in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lifecycle Support

  • Assist with releasing, monitoring, expediting, and closing work orders related to buffer prep MSOs under the guidance of the Production Planning team.

• Production Readiness

  • Print, review, and help audit production runbooks to confirm documentation is complete and verified before reaching the manufacturing floor.

• Lot Traceability

  • Track the status of produced and purchased lots.
  • Provide cross-functional support by preparing weekly lot trees for Quality Operations Product Release.

• Records Management

  • Organize and maintain production planning documentation to support audit readiness and ensure clear operational visibility.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Basic proficiency with office software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to lift and move file boxes as needed.
• Currently enrolled in a 4-year degree program pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a Scientific field (Biology/Chemistry preferred) as a rising junior or senior OR currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Familiarity with Excel (including pivot tables and macros), Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint is a plus.
• Interest in learning about production planning, manufacturing operations, or supply chain processes.

Hours

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Internship Timeline

June 1st through August 14th

Compensation

The estimated pay scale for this Intern role, based in California, is $18 – $22 per hour. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity, and market data.
