Position: INTERN
Reports to: Shareholder Services Program Manager
Status: Temporary, Full-time, Non-exempt
Location: Anchorage, AK
Job Summary
Aleut is recruiting for a summer internship program scheduled to begin in June 2025. This comprehensive 10-week internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain professional work experience by applying academic knowledge in a practical work setting within a focused area of interest.
Primary Responsibilities
- Embraces the mission, values, and strategic goals of Aleut.
- Provide administrative support to department staff as required.
- Greet and assist shareholders and and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Answer phones and direct calls to the appropriate department efficiently.
- Order program and office supplies as needed to maintain operational efficiency.
- Identify and participate in a goal-setting process with the direct supervisor to determine clear learning objectives for the duration of the internship.
- Observe and assist with various department programs, services, research, and other assigned tasks, contributing to ongoing initiatives.
- Attend meetings and trainings as appropriate to acquire comprehensive knowledge and develop skills within the department.
- Organize and assist in implementing strategies for special projects, contributing to successful outcomes.
- Complete a learning summary presentation to be delivered to Aleut management upon the successful completion of the internship, showcasing acquired knowledge and skills.
- Other duties as assigned to support department operations.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proficiency in speech writing, proper grammar, spelling, editing, and proofreading.
- Ability to learn and understand Aleut’s mission and strategic focus areas and incorporate this knowledge into daily activities.
- Good interpersonal and public contact skills; ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff of Aleut and affiliated-company employees; ability to exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others.
- Good organizational skills; ability to solve problems and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Enrolled in a continuing education program, such as a degree, vocational, or certification program.
- Aleut Corporation Shareholder and/or descendent.
