Educational Media Intern | Sparks Village Academy (SVA)

The Tone:
This is a remote educational media internship at Sparks Village Academy (SVA). SVA is dedicated to building an educational ecosystem that provides tutoring, homeschool support, parenting education, and community-centered learning resources. This role matters because interns will contribute to producing engaging educational videos for our YouTube platform, making learning fun, relatable, and accessible for kids, parents, and communities, and empowering students. The goal is to make educational conversations engaging, empowering, and accessible through media.

• Mission: To produce long-form YouTube content (8–20 minutes) that is both entertaining and informative, making educational conversations engaging, empowering, and accessible.
• Tech Stack: CapCut, Canva, iMovie, AI tools, Premiere

What You’ll Actually Do
• Content Research: Research and script engaging educational topics for long-form video content.
• Video Production: Produce long-form YouTube videos (8-20 minutes) aligned with SVA’s mission and content guidelines.
• Visual Storytelling: Create faceless videos utilizing AI tools, visuals, or voiceovers to convey educational messages.
• Video Editing: Edit videos using tools like CapCut, Canva, iMovie, or similar software, ensuring high-quality production.
• On-Camera Contribution: Optionally appear on camera for educational discussions or explainers, contributing a unique voice and perspective.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career student with a passion for education and youth development, and a desire to make a positive impact. Students studying education, communications, media, journalism, marketing, sociology, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
• Experience: Interest in storytelling and media production, eager to hone their craft in video content, and comfortable learning new digital tools.
• Skills: Creative and self-motivated content creation, ability to explain complex ideas in simple and engaging ways, strong independent work ethic with adherence to project guidelines, and knowledge or curiosity about history, culture, and issues affecting students today.
• Bonus: Experience with YouTube or social media content creation, video editing (CapCut, Canva, Premiere, iMovie, etc.), AI content tools, voice recording or podcasting, script writing or blogging, or animation or visual storytelling.
