Technical Support Intern | Lynden Incorporated
The Tone:
This is a paid, full-time internship at Lynden Incorporated, located in Anchorage, AK. Lynden is a family-owned transportation and logistics company that helps customers balance speed and budget by shipping via air, land, or sea. This role offers a hands-on summer learning experience, allowing the intern to support day-to-day IT operations and gain valuable real-world technical skills. You will contribute to a stable, collaborative, and team-focused culture within a company supporting numerous operating companies and thousands of employees.
The TL;DR

• Type: Full-time (40 hours/week for 10-12 weeks)
• Location: Anchorage, AK (On-site)
• Team: Corporate IT team of 95 employees, supporting 15 Lynden operating companies.
• Mission: To provide essential technical support for IT operations and contribute to various technology initiatives across the Lynden family of companies.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Deploy and Configure: Deploy and configure endpoint devices, assisting with initial setup and management.
• Support Mobile Operations: Support mobile technology operations and ensure field devices are ready for use.
• Troubleshoot and Document: Investigate and document technical issues, gathering information to validate problems and update resolution tickets.
• Optimize Systems: Participate in the optimization of print and peripheral systems to enhance efficiency and performance.
• Provide Onsite Support: Perform essential onsite infrastructure and equipment support for various IT systems.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate student currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably with a focus on Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience: Basic experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware, including desktop and laptop computers.
• Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft operating systems and Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); Academic knowledge of IT systems, networking fundamentals, and technical support practices; Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users; Reliable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a team-oriented environment.
• Bonus: Certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications.
