The Tone:
This is an intensive, one-year or less job training program at Year Up United, designed to empower young adults with the essential skills and opportunities needed to launch a professional career. Year Up United is committed to bridging the opportunity gap by providing comprehensive skills development, practical experience, and strategic career pathways. The program is crucial for participants seeking to gain highly sought-after technical and professional skills, build valuable industry connections, and achieve significant economic mobility. This role offers access to internships and employment with leading organizations such as Fannie Mae, Merck, Okta, and Salesforce, among many others.

The TL;DR

• Type: Full-time (Monday-Friday)
• Location: In-person, National Capital Region area
• Pay: $525 weekly (during internship phase)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Engage in comprehensive training by combining robust in-classroom skill development with practical, real-world experience.
• Acquire crucial technical and professional skills, focusing on in-demand areas such as Network Security & Support, Data Analytics, IT Support, Project Management, and Banking, all vital for today’s job market.
• Develop strong business and communication skills essential for effective professional interaction, successful collaboration, and overall career advancement.
• Master essential career preparation techniques, including effective interviewing strategies, professional networking, and building a compelling resume that highlights your new capabilities.
• Participate in valuable internship opportunities with leading organizations and/or utilize direct job placement services provided by YUPRO Placement, supported by personalized coaching and mentorship throughout your journey.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be a high school graduate or GED recipient, eligible to work in the U.S., and have not yet obtained a Bachelor’s degree.
• Experience: An early career individual who is highly motivated to learn and develop both technical and professional skills, aiming to successfully launch a professional career.
• Skills: Demonstrated commitment to full-time availability, Monday through Friday, for the entire duration of the program, coupled with a strong desire to master new technical and professional competencies.
