Zeta Summer Internship Program | Zeta

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person internship at Zeta, located in New York City (Inwood, the Bronx, or Queens). Zeta operates multiple elementary and middle schools, aiming for high academic achievement and social-emotional development for every student. This role is crucial for preparing our school buildings and resources for the launch of the 2026-27 school year. You will directly contribute to creating inspiring and functional learning environments for our students and staff.

• Mission: Ensure Zeta schools are fully prepared and inspiring for the launch of the 2026-27 school year.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Management: Manage projects related to school operations for the 2026-27 school year launch, including summer facilities renovations, custodial management, furniture installation, and materials deliveries.
• Space Organization: Stock and organize classrooms, common spaces, and storage rooms, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully planned and executed.
• Environment Beautification: Support classroom setup and assist with beautifying school spaces to create welcoming, functional environments for students and staff.
• Readiness Preparation: Prepare for teacher and student return, including setting up technology, making family phone calls, and ordering materials.
• Staff Onboarding: Develop training materials for new staff and prepare onboarding materials for new Zeta team members, including distributing swag and supplies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: College students, with a preference for current Sophomores and above, seeking an early career opportunity in school operations.
• Experience: Previous experience in general operations work is preferred (e.g., summer camp, restaurants, retail).
• Skills: Strong work ethic, excellent communication and customer service skills, strong problem-solving mentality, and attention to detail.
• Bonus: Demonstrated passion for Zeta Charter Schools’ mission, vision, and core values. Desire to work tirelessly and collaboratively to ensure school readiness.
