The Tone:
This is an Operations Internship at NEW Cooperative, located across many locations in North, Central, and Western Iowa. NEW Cooperative is a leading agricultural cooperative dedicated to delivering essential solutions and services to its valued customers. This role is crucial for providing vital solutions and information directly to farmers, contributing to the success of agricultural operations. Interns will gain hands-on experience in farming, crops, and grain, learning alongside industry leaders in a supportive outdoor environment.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Many NEW Cooperative locations in North, Central, and Western Iowa
• Pay: Total earnings between $7,500 – $11,000 (with paid overtime)
• Mission: Provide vital solutions and information to agricultural customers through hands-on operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Agronomy Support: Treat seeds, deliver products, and manage warehouse operations to support agronomic services for growers.
• Grain Management: Probe, test, grade, and maintain the condition of delivered grain.
• Operations Oversight: Maintain accurate records, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with state and federal grain policies.
• Logistics Coordination: Assist locations with planning, organizing, and scheduling the semi-fleet for efficient transportation.
• Special Projects: Plan and complete a hands-on project tailored to interests and available company opportunities, potentially involving research, interviews, and testing ideas.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Working towards a 2-year or 4-year college degree in agriculture.
• Experience: No prior agricultural or operations experience is required; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
• Skills: Possess strong communication, leadership, and time-management skills, operate effectively in a team, and hold a valid driver’s license.
