About the Boston Dynamics Procurement Internship Program in partnership with Hyundai Motor Group
Boston Dynamics is offering a unique Procurement Internship experience in partnership with Hyundai Motor Group. This program is meticulously designed for highly motivated students who possess a keen interest in supply chain management, procurement, manufacturing operations, and global business strategies. Interns will gain invaluable hands-on experience by supporting Boston Dynamics’ procurement organization, while also participating in a structured international rotation with Hyundai Motor Group in South Korea.
This internship provides unparalleled exposure to real-world procurement challenges within a fast-growing robotics company, combined with a comprehensive global perspective on manufacturing scale, intricate supplier ecosystems, and corporate operations. While the program is thoughtfully designed to support early career development, full-time employment is not guaranteed and remains contingent on individual performance, demonstrated business need, and approved headcount availability.
Internship Structure
Interns will commence the program on-site at Boston Dynamics, located in the dynamic Boston area, where they will be fully embedded within the Procurement organization. During the internship, participants will also embark on a short-term international rotation in South Korea, hosted by Hyundai Motor Group. This rotation includes a structured inbound program and a project-based assignment, offering a truly global learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day procurement activities across both direct and indirect sourcing categories.
- Assist with comprehensive supplier analysis, detailed cost modeling, and data-driven decision-making processes.
- Partner collaboratively with procurement, manufacturing, and engineering stakeholders to support critical sourcing initiatives.
- Conduct thorough market research and insightful supplier benchmarking to inform and strengthen category strategies.
- Help document existing procurement processes and actively identify opportunities for significant operational improvement.
- Prepare detailed analysis, concise summaries, and impactful presentations for procurement leadership.
- Participate actively in cross-functional meetings and gain valuable exposure to manufacturing and supply chain operations.
- Engage in structured learning modules and undertake project work during the Hyundai Motor Group rotation.

Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in supply chain management, operations, business, engineering, economics, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and robust problem-solving skills.
- Possess the ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Express a genuine interest in procurement, manufacturing, and global operations.
- Eligibility to work in the United States for the entire duration of the internship program.
- Fluency in Korean is a mandatory requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or academic experience in supply chain, procurement, operations, or manufacturing.
- Experience working with data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel or similar analytical platforms.
- A keen interest in global business or prior international work experience.
- Comfort and adaptability when working across diverse cultures and various time zones.
Program Considerations
The base pay range for this exciting position is between $30.00/hr – $35.00/hr. Base pay will ultimately depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to, internal equity, job-related knowledge, relevant skills, and extensive experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
This internship program includes essential international travel as a core component of the program experience.
- Interns must be willing and fully able to travel to South Korea for a short-term rotation.
- Travel logistics and comprehensive program details will be expertly coordinated by Boston Dynamics and Hyundai Motor Group.
- Compensation, benefits, and internship policies will strictly follow Boston Dynamics’ standard internship framework.
