Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Interim HealthCare
The Tone:
This is a full-time private duty nursing role at Interim HealthCare, providing essential care in clients’ homes. Interim HealthCare focuses on delivering quality nursing, personal care, therapy, and specialized services directly to families. This role is crucial for bringing comfort and dignity to patients, enabling families to concentrate on their relationships rather than caregiving. What You’ll Actually Do
• Direct Care: Provide in-home direct patient care in accordance with the prescribed plan of care and nursing scope of practice, closely monitoring patient progress and recovery.
• Patient Assessment: Assess and document patient conditions, including vitals, blood/stool/urine, and glucose, reporting any changes as needed.
• Medication Administration: Administer medication, insulin, and IV fluids, ensuring thorough documentation of all procedures.
• Wound Care and Hygiene: Inspect and care for wounds, change dressings, and assist patients with personal hygiene.
• Patient Education: Counsel and educate patients and their families to help them meet their healthcare-related needs effectively.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduate of a practical (vocational) nursing program for LPN/LVN, holding a current license as an LPN/LVN in the state(s) of practice.
• Experience: Completion of at least 1,200 hours of experience as an LPN/LVN, or successful completion of the Office’s preceptor program.
• Skills: Current CPR/AED/BLS/First Aid certification, ability to visually and aurally observe and assess patients, and reliable transportation to/from care sites.
• Bonus: Practical trach and/or ventilator experience is preferred; ability to provide proof of a valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance if assignments include transporting patients.
