Job Description

Lockheed Martin is seeking a full-time Early Career Mechanical Engineer for VS Aircraft Labs in Fort Worth, Texas. In this role, you will aid in the design of test fixtures, fabrication, setup, and test. Testing objectives are to simulate both environmental and climatic conditions for aircraft systems, conditioned air flow, altitude and climate chambers, bird strike, store ejection, wind tunnel, etc. As part of the VS lab team, you will identify maintenance needs of equipment and facilities to maintain capabilities.

The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of CAD software, technical planning, system integration, and validation. This position will require a government security clearance.

Preferred candidates should have demonstrated experience in test instrumentation, performing system/component tests, and be able to work with and direct represented employees.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical major.
• Course work or experience in one or more of the following: CATIA, SolidWorks, or other CAD applications.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.

Desired Skills

• Ability to interpret schematics / blueprints of complex parts and systems.
• Experience with fluid test systems and sensor applications/selection.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Familiar with machining and welding trade terminology.
• Able to work with and direct represented employees.
• Experience with MS office.

Security Clearance

This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen for consideration.

• Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time. The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
• Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
• Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
