Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) – Starliner Program
This role is with Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) at our Kennedy Space Center, Florida location. You will play a crucial part in the development and production of the CST-100 Starliner spacecraft. The Starliner is designed to transport crew to the International Space Station and beyond, marking a significant step in human space exploration. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in manufacturing processes for this vital program.
Position Responsibilities
As an Entry Level Industrial Engineer (Level 1), your responsibilities will include:
- Facilitating the development and maintenance of assembly precedence networks.
- Analyzing production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Supporting root cause analysis and corrective action for manufacturing issues.
- Working with operations management to remove roadblocks and prioritize work.
- Utilizing a systems-thinking approach to develop creative solutions for complex problems and drive consensus on technical decisions.
- Employing a variety of communication styles to ensure stakeholder and customer satisfaction through project updates, including presentations to program leadership.
Work Location and Shift
- This position is expected to be 100% onsite at Kennedy Space Center, Florida.
- The standard shift for this position is 1st shift. However, the selected candidate must be able and willing to work 2nd shift (split shift), including weekends and overtime, as business needs dictate.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
- Experience in Industrial Engineering.
- Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives.
- Advanced proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Must be able and willing to work 2nd shift (split shift), including weekends and overtime.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Candidates with the following qualifications will be highly regarded:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering.
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of Industrial Engineering tools, including project management, production systems, flow and capacity analysis, manufacturing methods, statistical analysis, and lean manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Industrial Engineering tools used in production, including capacity analysis, theory of constraints, waste elimination, and production improvements.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
Compensation and Benefits

- Summary Pay Range: $69,700 – $94,300 (Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations).
- Eligible employees receive an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and programs providing for both paid and unpaid time away from work.
