Financial Reporting – 2026 Summer Internship | Mutual of America Financial Group

The Tone:
This is a summer internship at Mutual of America Financial Group, located in New York City. Interns will contribute to delivering reliable financial information essential for executive decision-making.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Journal Entries: Prepare journal entries and ensure they are supported by accurate and thorough documentation.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct monthly financial statement analysis, performing both account-level and trend reviews.
• Close Process Support: Actively assist in the monthly close process by validating data and preparing reports.
• Regulatory Reporting: Support the preparation of quarterly financial statements to comply with regulatory and statutory requirements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, specifically a rising Sophomore (expected graduation May 2029) or rising Junior (expected graduation May 2028), with a minimum overall GPA of 3.4.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is required, but candidates must be able to commute to New York City four days a week (Monday – Thursday).
• Skills: Foundational understanding of accounting principles, financial statement analysis, data validation, and attention to detail.
• Bonus: An Accounting or Finance major is preferred for this role.
