About the Job: Graduate and Professional Admissions Specialist
The Graduate and Professional Admissions Specialist plays a crucial role within Strategic Enrollment’s Graduate and Professional Admissions department. This position requires a detailed understanding of university structure, academic programs, policies, procedures, and admission requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- GPA Calculation and Entry: Learn to calculate and accurately enter overall applicant GPA, as well as GPA for each previous university, into the Student Information System (SIS).
- Transcript Evaluation: Determine if GPA criteria have been met and confirm the receipt and authenticity of all transcript documents.
- Prerequisite Evaluation: Interpret and evaluate program prerequisites, transfer credit, and grading systems, applying appropriate resources.
- Knowledge Maintenance: Maintain current and up-to-date knowledge of OSU Graduate programs and degree pathways.
- SIS Updates: Update prerequisite evaluations and enter calculated GPA on the evaluation page in the SIS, adhering to predetermined guidelines.
- Professional Programs: Understand unique admissions processes, tools, applicant portals, and admissions course prerequisites for Professional programs.
- Applicant Advising: Advise prospective applicants on appropriate courses to fulfill prerequisites.
- Quality Control and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to review, correct, and perform quality control checks for all prerequisite referrals, ensuring consistent and accurate review of student coursework.
- Inquiry Response: Review and respond to incoming questions from both external departments and internal Outreach/Student teams.
- Documentation and Projects: Assist with the annual update and review of area documentation and other special projects.
- Cross-Training: Reflect willingness to cross-train across all functions within Graduate and Professional Admissions.
- Teamwork Promotion: Assist in promoting a coordinated, collaborative, and teamwork-based environment.
- Quality Control: Assist in maintaining quality control processes.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and collaboration skills are required.

Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $19.28 to $19.40 per hour. The final offer will be determined based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
