What You’ll Actually Do
• Software Application: Utilize technical software programs to analyze, produce, and quality control deliverables for clients.
• Project Contribution: Contribute to the pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects varying in size and scope.
• Collaborative Problem Solving: Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to bring clients’ visions for the built environment to life.
• Standard Familiarization: Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and client-specific practices, procedures, and standards.
• Technical Skill Development: Learn and gain proficiency in discipline-specific software programs, including but not limited to AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, and/or GIS.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career, currently pursuing an ABET accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s engineering degree.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience required for this student internship.
• Skills: Understanding of civil engineering principles, ability to learn technical software, problem-solving aptitude, and collaboration skills.
