Fueler Service Technician | Ryder

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Ryder, located in Savannah, GA. Ryder is a leader in logistics and supply chain management, ensuring critical transportation solutions for businesses. This role is essential for maintaining the operational readiness of Ryder’s fleet, ensuring vehicles are properly fueled, cleaned, and undergo initial inspections, directly supporting the efficiency and safety of daily operations.

• Mission: Ensure Ryder vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and undergo initial inspections to support daily operations.
• Tech Stack: Computer hardware and software, word processing, spreadsheets, email for data entry, codes, and instructions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Fueling & Washing: Fuel, wash, and detail vehicles to maintain their appearance and operational readiness.
• Inspections: Perform multi-point inspections on inbound units as required, checking tire pressure and oil, and reporting service issues to the shop.
• Inventory Management: Record fuel activity and maintain accurate fuel and DEF inventories, including reconciliation.
• Vehicle Movement: Move heavy-duty vehicles safely within the facility for various tasks.
• Minor Maintenance: Execute minor maintenance tasks such as tire repairs, initially under close supervision, and maintain the fuel island area to specified standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be 18 years of age or older. This is a DOT Safety Regulated and Safety Sensitive position, and you will be a Regulated Service Employee.
• Experience: Proficiency in English written and verbal communication, demonstrated customer service skills including understanding verbal communication. Basic computer skills are required for data entry and understanding codes and instructions. A high degree of thoroughness and dependability is expected.
• Skills: Ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, and holidays, and at different locations. Capability to create and maintain professional relationships, work independently and as part of a team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong multi-tasking, organizational, time management, and detail-oriented skills with excellent follow-up practices are essential.
• Bonus: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Two or more years of related work experience is preferred. A Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A is preferred, with the ability to obtain one within 6 months after hire. Candidates must pass a Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
