About the Role
As a Sales Representative, Small Business Services at ADP, you will manage a defined geographic territory, targeting clients and prospects with 1-49 employees. Your primary goal will be to identify and sign new clients for essential services such as payroll, tax, human resources, and benefits. You will also be responsible for selling additional solutions to existing clients.
Daily activities include:
- Cultivating relationships with potential clients and business partners.
- Setting appointments for client meetings.
- Gathering leads from established business partners.
- Assessing client or prospect needs to present the most suitable ADP solutions.
- Spending significant time in the field closing business.

What You’ll Do: Responsibilities
- Grow Our Business While Growing Yours: Work both independently and collaboratively within various teams in your assigned geography to close sales, win new business, and achieve sales goals.
- Turn Prospects into Loyal Clients and Raving Fans: Implement a strategic sales approach targeting decision-makers and business owners to build a robust network and capture new business.
- Deepen Relationships Across the ADP Family: Beyond selling cloud-based human resources solutions, strategically cultivate additional business opportunities within existing accounts. This role also offers the chance to build life-long friendships.
- Collaborate Daily: Serve as a trusted advisor, partner, and ADP ambassador to your clients, internal partners, and overall network, always demonstrating grace under pressure and upholding the highest ethical standards.
To Succeed In This Role: Required Qualifications
- Positive Self-Starter: Possess an upbeat, persistent style, the ability to cold call without fear of rejection, excellent time management skills, and the capacity to present ideas clearly and professionally in writing, in-person, and over the phone.

Required Experience:
While a college degree is beneficial, it is not strictly required. We prioritize relevant skills and experiences, which may include:
- One to two years of prior work experience or internships in:
- Retail
- Marketing
- Business Development
- Food Service
- Insurance Sales
- Or another relevant industry

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. This position includes additional compensation in the form of commissions (uncapped). The compensation for this role is USD $35,900.00 – USD $77,700.00 / Year*.
*Actual compensation will not be less than the applicable minimum wage or minimum exempt salary requirement under federal, state and local laws.
