2026 Fall Commercial Growth Intern | Ephemeris Net

The Tone:
This is a fall internship at Ephemeris Net, located in El Segundo, CA or Oakland, CA. Ephemeris Net is extending the internet to space by building foundational networking infrastructure for the space economy. This role is crucial because getting the business model, financial projections, and commercial positioning right is as important as developing the technology itself. You will deliver work that directly supports commercial growth and helps define how data moves through space.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $70400 yearly, prorated for length of internship
• Team: Reports to Head of Government Programs & Finance or Head of Commercial Growth & Ops
• Mission: Help build commercial strategy that drives the business forward and supports commercial growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Commercial Sales: Develop sales proposals and supporting materials for prospective customers.
• Pricing Analysis: Build pricing models and conduct pricing research for new product offerings or customer engagements.
• Market Strategy: Perform market mapping and competitive analysis to identify target customer segments and strategic partnership opportunities.
• Strategic Recommendations: Develop strategic guidance on market entry, partnership structures, or product positioning.
• Business Development: Support efforts to differentiate the company and close commercial customers.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate or masters degree in business, finance, engineering, public policy, international relations, or a related field.
• Experience: Prior experience in consulting, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or corporate finance is preferred. Prior experience in the aerospace, defense, or space industry is also preferred.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, including comfort building financial models, working with data, and structuring ambiguous problems. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and persuasively. Ability to work independently on scoped projects with mentorship, work on-site in El Segundo or Oakland for at least 3 months, 3 days a week, and must be a US person (15 CFR 772.1).
• Bonus: Familiarity with venture capital fundraising processes and investor relations. Experience building financial models (DCF, LBO, scenario analysis, or startup unit economics). Experience with market research, competitive analysis, or strategic planning.
