What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Service Excellence: Provide SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) customer service by consistently applying Lowe’s customer service policies, procedures, and programs to ensure an exceptional shopping experience.
• Proactive Customer Engagement & Support: Actively seek out customers to understand their specific needs and provide comprehensive assistance, which includes locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise, as well as offering guidance on projects or product usage.
• Product Information & Specialized Tasks: Effectively communicate detailed information regarding stock availability, special order merchandise, product features, benefits, applications, and warranty information related to Lowe’s programs. For the Tool Rental Department, this also involves accurately writing customer contracts and invoices for equipment rental and tool repairs.
• Store Organization & Loss Prevention: Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and programs like Zone Recovery to maintain a clean, organized, and secure store environment, while also identifying and reporting common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks to management or Asset Protection.
• Safety & Equipment Operation: Actively maintain a safe and secure work environment by adhering to all relevant safety requirements, including conducting daily safety reviews, identifying hazards, keeping aisles clear, and safely operating various store equipment such as Zebra phones, power equipment with spotters, and specific departmental tools like the key cutter or paint mixer.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career professional with a foundational understanding of retail operations and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service within a home improvement environment. This role also requires the ability to obtain any sales-related licensure or registration as may be mandated by law for specific transactions.
• Experience: Less than 1 year of hands-on experience using computers for essential tasks such as inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information. Additionally, demonstrate less than 1 year of practical experience with common retail technology, including smartphones and tablets, to support store operations and customer interactions.
• Skills: Proven capability in identifying customer needs and effectively selling products by explaining features, benefits, and warranties. Strong ability to assist customers with product location, build positive relationships, and resolve issues promptly. Competence in performing zone recovery and maintaining high housekeeping standards for store organization and safety awareness to identify and report security risks.
