VITAS Representative – End-of-Life Care Advocacy

What You’ll Do

As a VITAS Representative, you’ll be at the forefront of change, educating physicians, healthcare leaders, and professionals about the invaluable benefits of hospice care. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building trusted relationships with physicians, healthcare leaders, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Confidently guiding referral sources through understanding prognostication, the value proposition of hospice, and how to have effective conversations for families facing serious illness.
  • Championing the benefits of the Medicare hospice benefit to ensure broader access to care.
  • Working collaboratively alongside clinical partners to ensure patients receive the right care at the right time.

Where You’ll Work

You’ll be based out of a local VITAS office and actively engaging across your designated territory. Whether it’s a physician’s office, hospital, or care facility, you’ll go where the need is, always focused on making meaningful connections and impactful relationships.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience or experience in healthcare services preferred.
  • Participated in a competitive team environment that involved individual accountability and teamwork.
  • Able to demonstrate examples of critical thinking and creative solutions.
  • Past military service is a significant plus.
  • Experience with volunteer organizations is a plus.
  • Hospice experience preferred but not required.
  • Evidence of achieving sales goals within the market and/or demonstrates a track record of consistently exceeding corporate goals.
  • Strong customer service, sense of urgency, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and successful application of a needs-satisfaction selling process.
  • Ability to manage a territory, conduct sales calls, and generate sales by building long-term business partnerships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills across all levels of an organization.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred. (Specific requirements may vary per state.)
  • Other acceptable licenses include: RN, LPN/LVN, SW.
