Job Title: Counter Sales Representative
Job Summary
Ferguson is actively seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join its team as a Counter Sales Representative. This role is crucial in assisting customers, processing orders, managing inventory, and maintaining a well-organized and safe store environment. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, a foundational understanding of products (preferred), and the ability to learn and adapt.
Compensation & Hours
- Starting Pay: $21.00 per hour, with the potential for higher pay based on experience.
- Pay Range: The estimated hourly pay range for this role is $15.00 – $23.85.
- Bonus Eligibility: This role is eligible for hourly bonus potential and is part of a Bonus or Incentive Plan.
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and recommendations to customers, ensuring they select the best products to meet their specific needs.
- Efficiently process customer orders using the established order management system.
- Operate cash registers accurately and adhere strictly to all cash handling procedures.
- Prepare and stage customer orders for timely pick-up.
- Maintain the overall appearance of the store, ensuring merchandising standards are met as advised.
- Responsible for restocking merchandise and ensuring all products are placed in their designated areas.
- Contribute to a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- Experience: 1-3 years of proven customer service experience is required.
- Product Knowledge: Basic knowledge of relevant products is preferred.
- Digital Literacy: General digital literacy is essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift, load, and potentially deliver merchandise.
- Math Skills: General mathematical skills are necessary for accurate cash accounting.
- Learning Aptitude: A strong ability to learn new products and processes is a must.
- Communication: Excellent decision-making and communication skills are critical.
