The Tone:
This is a part-time Registered Nurse | Graduate Nurse role at Henry Ford Health Genesys, located in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Henry Ford Health Genesys provides comprehensive healthcare services, and this role is critical in applying independent professional judgment and the nursing process to deliver a full range of nursing care. You will contribute to patient well-being by coordinating multidisciplinary care, educating patients, and ensuring quality outcomes within a supportive environment.

The TL;DR
• Role: Part Time
• Type: Part-time, Nights, 18 hours per week, 7pm-7:30am weeknights and every 3rd weekend
• Location: Grand Blanc, MI (On-site)
• Team: Observation Unit
• Mission: To utilize independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process to provide a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services to patients.
• Tech Stack: IV pumps, PCA pumps, epidural pumps, feeding pumps, patient beds

What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Care Coordination: Coordinate the development of a multi-disciplinary plan of care in accordance with established guidelines, age-specific requirements, and professional standards to ensure appropriate length of stay, resource use, and quality outcomes.
• Direct Patient Care: Provide compassionate patient care that reflects a respect for patient rights, dignity, values, culture, preferences, and expressed needs, including skillfully alleviating patient fears and anxiety.
• Education & Communication: Assess patient and family needs for information and education across the continuum, then plan, implement, and evaluate patient teaching using a variety of techniques and methods.
• Therapeutic Regimen Administration: Administer medications, IVs, and blood products according to established policies and procedures, perform or assist with basic nursing procedures, and initiate/assist with all patient care activities including activities of daily living.
• Patient Monitoring & Response: Monitor patient physiological parameters, recognize acute changes in status (respiratory, neurologic, cardiac, urinary), and respond appropriately with direct intervention and physician notification using tools like SBAR.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program.
• Experience: No prior experience explicitly required; position is open to Graduate Nurses with an expected three (3) to nine (9) months of on-the-job orientation to acquire unit-specific knowledge.
• Skills: Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing; Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA); proficiency in the nursing process, analytical skills, independent professional judgment, patient communication, and accurate documentation.
