Position Summary

As a Bell Person / Guest Services Agent, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for our guests at The Ritz-Carlton Naples. This position requires a dedication to hospitality, a proactive approach to guest needs, and the ability to maintain our high “Gold Standards” of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort guests to their rooms upon arrival, providing a warm welcome.
  • Open doors and graciously assist guests and visitors entering and leaving the property.
  • Inform guests about the property’s amenities, services, hours of operation, and local areas of interest and activities.
  • Identify and explain room features to guests, including the use of room keys, mini-bar, ice and vending areas, in-room safe, and valet laundry services.
  • Transport guest luggage efficiently and carefully to and from guest rooms and/or designated bell areas.
  • Assist with the secure storage and retrieval of guest luggage.
  • Assist guests and visitors in and out of vehicles, including loading and unloading luggage with care.
  • Provide clear and accurate directions to guests for local destinations and hotel facilities.
  • Arrange various transportation options (e.g., taxicab, shuttle bus, limousine/sedan service) for guests and visitors, accurately recording advance transportation requests as needed.
  • Clearly communicate parking procedures to guests and visitors upon arrival.

Operational & Professional Standards

  • Adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Promptly report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to management.
  • Maintain constant awareness of persons on property premises to ensure guest safety and security.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are consistently clean, professional, and in line with The Ritz-Carlton’s luxury standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information, guest data, and business operations.
  • Extend a genuine welcome and acknowledge all guests, anticipating and addressing their service needs proactively.
  • Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities, ensuring accessibility and comfort.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation, leaving a lasting positive impression.
  • Communicate with colleagues and guests using clear and professional language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette and a helpful demeanor.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all team members and departments.
  • Comply with all quality assurance expectations and service standards set by The Ritz-Carlton.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to read and visually verify information in various formats, including small print.
  • Capability to move at a speed required to respond effectively to work situations (e.g., run, walk, jog).
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for an entire work shift.
  • Capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to move safely over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors to ensure seamless operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Related Work Experience: No related work experience is required; we welcome enthusiastic candidates eager to learn.
  • Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required for this non-management role.
  • License or Certification: None required.
