Environmental Services Technician (EVS Tech)

Overview:

We are seeking an Environmental Services Technician, also referred to as an EVS Tech or Environmental Aide, to join our team. The EVS Tech plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff by cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas to prevent infection. This position involves managing waste disposal, restocking essential supplies, maintaining floors and surfaces, and responding promptly to urgent cleaning needs. This is a per diem (PD/PRN) position, meaning work is assigned as needed.

• Hours: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Location: Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, TX

Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities, includes but not limited to):

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas to prevent the spread of infections.
• Properly dispose of medical and hazardous waste according to hospital protocols.
• Restock supplies such as gloves, masks, and cleaning materials in various hospital areas.
• Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, and other surfaces using specialized equipment and chemicals.
• Respond to urgent cleaning needs, such as spills or contamination incidents, and communicate promptly using phone, handheld radios, pagers, and other devices.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness within the hospital and adjacent buildings, which may require traveling between facilities independently.

Qualifications:

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• One (1) year of knowledge within acute care hospital environmental service techniques, practices and procedures preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate effectively.
