Key Responsibilities
As an Analyst/Data Science Intern, you will have the opportunity to:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of complex processes from an enterprise perspective to identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Assess current operations, pinpoint areas for improvement, and develop innovative solutions to optimize performance.
- Evaluate alternative concepts and methodologies by applying mathematical models, simulation tools, and supply chain theory.
- Document detailed functional capability requirements to serve as the foundation for subsequent software development.
- Perform and document results from thorough functional software tests.
- Execute various studies and analyses, generating comprehensive technical documentation of findings and results.
- Create and deliver compelling briefings to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Design robust analytical methodologies and validate them through coding in Python, followed by running detailed analyses.
- Engage in projects involving advanced data analytics and emerging technologies, working collaboratively with data science and business experts.
- Collaborate with passionate scientists and engineers on exciting problems including recommendations, personalization, and search engine marketing.
- Research, analyze, and present results, recommending intelligent solutions to solve business challenges by applying a strong knowledge of data analysis, critical-thinking skills, and intelligence expertise.
- Structure complex analytical results in an organized, visually compelling manner to tell a meaningful and actionable story.
- Develop, implement, and revise detailed analytical frameworks and processes.

Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
- Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program at Florida International University (FIU) is mandatory.
- Availability to work full-time for at least 10-12 weeks.
- Currently pursuing a major in Engineering, Modeling & Simulation, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Operations Research, Business Administration, or a related quantitative or technical field.
- Basic proficiency with a variety of data analysis tools, spreadsheets, and database programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose and write a variety of internal and external documents, reports, and presentations effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills, with the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships within LMI and with its clients.
- Ability to contribute positively to a professional work environment by demonstrating integrity, promoting teamwork, and fostering positive communication.
- Strong problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills.
- Strong planning skills and the ability to coordinate and prioritize assignments with minimum supervision. Must be self-directed and detail-oriented in completing assigned tasks and projects.
