Summer Intern: Architecture & Interior Design

A Day in the Life of a Summer Intern

Summer architectural and interior design interns will work on a variety of challenging assignments across all project phases, from conceptual design through construction documentation. This role involves working in a collaborative, hands-on environment and being exposed to a wide range of design experiences.

Key Responsibilities & Skills

As a Summer Intern, you will be expected to:

  • Work on a variety of challenging assignments across all project phases (conceptual design through construction documentation).
  • Collaborate effectively in a hands-on environment.
  • Demonstrate innovative design solutions.
  • Manage time effectively and absorb new concepts quickly.
  • Communicate clearly and work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Possess a strong desire to produce good design.

Qualifications & Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Completed at least their second year of undergrad or higher in an accredited architecture or interior design program.
  • Software Proficiency: Familiarity with a variety of industry-related software, including:
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Previous Experience: Previous internship experience in an architectural firm is preferred, but not required.
  • Personal Attributes: Curious & creative, with excellent time management skills, ability to absorb new concepts quickly, clear communication skills, and the capacity to work both collaboratively and independently.

Workplace Environment

While performing duties in the office, the environment is generally moderate in noise level and free of hazardous conditions.
