Within the domain of financial statement audit at PwC, your primary focus will be on obtaining reasonable assurance that the financial statements as a whole are free from material misstatement, regardless of whether such misstatement is due to fraud or error. Ultimately, you will contribute to the issuance of an auditor’s report that includes the auditor’s opinion, a cornerstone of financial transparency.

The Opportunity: Audit Intern

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting audit teams in conducting comprehensive financial statement audits and assurance engagements.
  • Participating in the review and verification of financial documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assisting in the application of industry-standard auditing methodologies and accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards).
  • Engaging in data analysis and interpretation to identify critical financial trends and insights.
  • Contributing to the preparation of accurate financial reports and disclosures for various stakeholders.
  • Collaborating effectively with team members to manage client relationships and deliver exceptional audit services.
  • Learning and applying internal controls and compliance auditing techniques.
  • Observing and participating in the implementation of robust data security and quality measures.
  • Utilizing data visualization tools to present complex financial data clearly and effectively.
  • Analyzing financial transactions and statements to thoroughly support audit objectives.
  • Gathering and organizing information to support comprehensive risk identification and management processes.
  • Developing a strong understanding of accounting policies and financial reporting standards.

What You Must Have:

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Before commencing full-time employment at PwC, you must meet the educational requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in your intended state of employment.
  • A minimum of a 3.0 overall GPA.
  • Client service intern positions are entry-level roles specifically intended for job seekers who are in their third year of a four-year degree program or fourth year of a five-year program at the time of application. Winter internships typically occur during the spring semester preceding the student’s final year of school. Summer internships typically take place during the summer preceding the student’s final year of school.

What Sets You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Preference for a 3.3 overall GPA.
  • Demonstrating foundational knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Previous participation in external audit processes and methodologies.
  • Experience engaging in financial statement analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency in utilizing data analysis and interpretation skills.
  • Aptitude for applying auditing methodologies in financial audits.
  • Capability in supporting client management and communication efforts.

The salary range for this position is: $29.25 – $48.00 per hour. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
