Junior Auditor Intern | CPA Firm in the Bronx, New York

The Tone:
This is an internship at a small CPA firm in the Bronx, New York, known for our tight-knit and competent staff. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain on-the-job training and practical experience directly related to the Auditing career field. We are actively seeking an objective, highly skilled Junior Auditor Intern to join our team. Interns will start part-time, with the potential opportunity for a full-time position upon successful completion and firm needs.

• Mission: Successfully conduct assigned audits and other assurance engagements from start to finish, adhering to professional standards.
• Tech Stack: CaseWare/PPC SMART Practice Aids (or similar engagement software), Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook), Pivot Tables

What You’ll Actually Do
• Audits: Conduct assigned audits and other assurance engagements successfully from start to finish, adhering strictly to applicable professional standards.
• Planning: Prepare planning documents and perform an overall risk assessment of assigned clients.
• Evidence: Obtain and review audit evidence, ensuring that all audit conclusions are thoroughly documented.
• Problem Solving: Identify and communicate issues discovered during engagements and propose effective solutions.
• Reporting: Prepare financial statements, footnotes, and any supplemental information.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be actively enrolled in a degree program in accounting, finance, or a related field, and maintain good academic standing.
• Experience: Must be authorized to work in the US, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Skills: Demonstrated problem-solving skills, planning, organizing abilities, and strong attention to detail. Good communication skills (listening, verbal, written), proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and knowledge of Pivot Tables is a must.
• Bonus: Experience working on audits, reviews, and/or compilations in a CPA firm. Expertise in using CaseWare/PPC SMART Practice Aids (or similar engagement software).
